Have you seen 'the Bar' in the bar ?
We think it's one of our most eye catching features - we are now the proud owners of what we believe to be the first hand-crafted curved zinc bar in the United Kingdom. The bar area has a French Café feel to it, with plenty of tables should you just want a light meal or midday snack
... and the main table area, (which includes it's unusual 'mock French Window'.... more on that in the 'unusual' section), and the archway into the Piazza Room....
ahoy the lifeboats !
At the bar, those with a penchant for wine will revel at the site of the Mussel and Crab's renowned 'Lifeboat': five glasses of wine chosen from the special wine board.
The wines are actually presented on a model lifeboat in a row of five miniature glasses - at the sound of the bell and Captains horn! It's a fun way to try some wines that you might not have tried before, and typifies the relaxed atmosphere of both our lounge bar and dining rooms.
Our new TAPAS BAR is now installed, and ready to provide you with some mouth-watering snacks to accompany your drinks at the bar.
The Mussel and Crab is a free house, so if you have a passion for beers with a difference, you can go International with our wide selection of lagers and bottled beers, or simply treat your taste buds to a pint of your favourite brew before enjoying a dining experience we are sure you will be determined to re-live.
