"We took my boyfriend's father here for his 60th birthday a few weeks ago and yet again this restaurant has delivered first class food and first class service. The bar area is relaxing and you never feel any pressure to order; you have plenty of time to wander around and look at the blackboards. I love its individuality and little quirks from the seats of hands to the "lifeboat". Firm favourites are the Seafood Tower, Mussels Po Pei, Atlantic Cod, Gressingham Duck and Sea Bass. I've been here probably eight or nine times over the past couple of years and every time I have been welcomed, served amazing and beautifully constructed food and have always left feeling full and very pleased with everything the restaurant has to offer. Give it a try!"

"We had always heard good things about the Mussel and Crab, and decided my birthday would be a great excuse to visit. The food is wonderful, I love seafood, but they also cater for folk who do not, you will love the rustic bread and roasted garlic. Go there!"

"The Mussel and Crab at Tuxford is a charming little restaurant in the heart of Nottinghamshire not far from "Robin Hood Country" in Tuxford.
Set on Sibthorpe Hill, the restaurant offers large car parking facilities and you will be delighted when you open the door on this gem of a restaurant. The ambience is delightful, check out the wooden "hands" which you can relax in when deciding upon your meal. The decor is really original, boasting tropical fish in the gents, and an ocean themed ladies toilet seats! The proprietors Bruce and Alison will ensure they do all they can to make your meal here a memorable one. Primarily specialising in freshly caught fish (the choice is humungous) to the most fantastic steaks.
The dessert menu offers a wide range of desserts, and I implore you to try this restaurant if you ever visit Nottinghamshire, you certainly won't be disappointed"

"The whole experience of eating at the Mussel and Crab revolves around the relaxed atmosphere and the knowledgable, friendly staff. For fans of sea food you are in for a rare treat. The red mullet is fantastic. With a brilliant traditional menu it's a toss up between the two even for an avid fish fan. The steak is the best I've ever had. Not the cheapest but certainly one of the best restuarant's for miles around. Book a taxi, get dressed up and enjoy a real treat".
